2005 EUROPEAN GARLANDO OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS REPORT
London, September 16th - 18th, 2005 - Miniball 2™ sponsored one of Europe’s most well attended foosball competitions, organized by the British
Foosball Association (BFA). The Miniball™ Team met foosball champions from across Europe. More than 100 players travelled from throughout the
United Kingdom and from Austria, Hungary, Morocco, Poland, Australia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Some players
also attempted to come from India, but faced travel problems. Despite a few journey woes the attendance was strong, with competitors ranging in age
from 18 to 50, and friends and family also attended to cheer on their favourite foosers. Competition was fierce for the £7,000 prize pot (divided
up among various winners for singles, doubles, male and female contests) and all event registrants received Miniball.co.uk t-shirts. Some of the
top foosers attending the event included:
Rob Atha, United Kingdom (World Ranked #2)
Wolfgang Reszler, Austria (World Ranked #4)
Jamal Allalou, Morocco/Germany (World Ranked #7 and Garlando’s #1 Player)
Pawel Sielski, Poland (World Ranked #8)
Martin Fritsche, Austria (World Ranked #13)
Marcello Manganiello, Italy/Switzerland (World Ranked #16)
Samantha Di Paolo (World Ranked#13)
Marcello Manganiello, Italy/Switzerland (World Ranked #16)
Verena Rohrer, Austria (World Ranked #3 Female)
